For my birthday celebrations, L gave me 3 restaurant options to choose from. I had been to Pete’s Place many years back but had quite forgotten about the food. Hence, I took the opportunity to have a revisit.
I arrived a little early, hence I took the time to have a quick visit to Mezza bar, which is located on the mezzanine level of the hotel. For a weekday, it was pretty crowded and that was probably due to the happy hour promotion the bar has every weekday – 50% off for cocktails, house wines and beers.
The cocktail menu is pretty unique. The bar offers a whole list of martinis infused with local flavours (eg: bandung, milk tea, pandan, lemongrass etc). I ordered a lemongrasstini which was a really nice combination.
Now on to dinner. We started with a quick trio of bruschetta. Fresh tomatoes, drizzled with olive oil on bread.
L had an Italian classic, the carbonara.
I had the seafood pasta, which was served with a medley of clams, scallops, prawns and lobster. Really tasty and cooked very well. I enjoyed this dish and finished every single bit.
M had the pan seared cod fish which was served with polenta and a creamy sauce
The restaurant was also kind enough to give me a complimentary birthday slice of tart 🙂
L and I agreed that we really loved the plates that the food was served on. The colourful design really lent a nice ‘rustic’ touch to the presentation. Food wise, we also enjoyed the mains that we had ordered. The ambiance of the restaurant was really warm and cozy. Service was really great, servers were friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back here again!
