KL: Just Heavenly Cafe

This is the second post of my food adventures in Malaysia (2015). Previous posts can be found here.

Ended up at Bangsar Shopping Centre as C had some work to do and I just tagged along; didn’t want to just stay in their house the entire day. We finally set down for lunch and since we both didn’t have much preference, we settled for Just Heavenly Cafe, which was conveniently located near the lifts leading up from the carpark.

Apparently, the cafe is more well known for their cakes, but have their expanded their repertoire to include a full menu, serving all day breakfast, burgers, sandwiches and pasta. C loves their carbonara (RM$28) and ordered that for herself.

On the other hand, I ordered the fettuccine duck confit (RM$28). I thought this was pretty well done, the fettuccine was cooked with chilli flakes which added a spicy kick to the dish. Although I don’t take chilli too well, this was not overwhelmingly spicy and I was able to enjoy it without suffering any whiplash.

Since this was predominantly a dessert place, I had to order one of their many cakes. Previously, C had bought their chocolate fudge cake which was really good. Loved the crunchy bits on top of the cake.

This time, I tried their red velvet cake which is supposedly one of their specialties. For someone who is really sensitive towards sugar, I really enjoyed this cake. The cake layers were moist and the cream cheese was not overwhelmingly sweet. Notably, the cream cheese was evenly spread between the cake layers which gave a nice balance to the overrall taste of the cake

As I was only one person, I could not really go on a cake eating spree. However, Just Heavenly Cafe has many other different types of cakes (Eg; Lemon Meringue, Key Lime Pie, Strawberry shortcake) and the dessert connoisseur would not be left wanting here. Its prices are not cheap, but I guess that’s the price you pay for good cakes. I’m also told that Bangsar Shopping Centre is considered an ‘atas’ mall, hence the customer base is definitely of the more affluent kind.
